Message from the Director

“Oral Health is the Gateway to Total Wellness.”

Welcome to Nishikata Family Dental / Kaneko Dental Clinic. I am Dr. Takahiko Kaneko, the Director of Koeikai Medical Corporation. With over 38 years of experience in dentistry and a Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Oral microbiology, I am dedicated to providing high-quality dental care that supports your overall health.

We understand that visiting a dentist in a foreign country can be stressful due to the language barrier and different medical systems. To ensure our international patients feel at home, I personally provide consultations and treatments in fluent English (EIKEN Grade 1 certified).

Whether you need a routine check-up, emergency treatment, or a professional sports mouthguard, we are here to support your healthy life in Japan.

Why Choose Us?

1. Fully English-Speaking Doctor

No need for a translator. Dr. Kaneko handles everything from initial consultation to complex surgical procedures in English, ensuring clear communication regarding your treatment plan and costs.

2. Ph.D. Specialist in Oral Health

As a specialist in Oral microbiology, Dr. Kaneko focuses on the link between oral bacteria and systemic diseases (such as diabetes and dementia). We provide evidence-based preventive care.

3. Advanced Technology (1-Day Treatment)

Using the latest CEREC (CAD/CAM) technology, we can provide high-quality ceramic crowns and inlays in a single visit—perfect for busy professionals. (Only available at Kaneko Dental Clinic in Kuki)

Do you accept Japanese Health Insurance?

Yes, we accept all forms of Japanese National Health Insurance (Kokumin Kenko Hoken) and Social Insurance (Shakai Hoken).

In Japan, most dental procedures are covered by national health insurance, which typically covers 70% of the cost. Patients are usually responsible for the remaining 30% as a co-payment.

What to bring on your first visit:

  • Your Health Insurance Card (Physical card or My Number Card)
  • ID (Residence Card or Passport)
  • Any medical information or medications you are currently taking.

Estimated Costs (with 30% Insurance coverage)

While costs vary depending on the complexity of the case, here is a general guide for insurance-based treatments:

  • Initial Consultation & Cleaning: Approx. ¥3,000 – ¥4,500 (Includes X-rays, periodontal pocket check, and professional scaling)
  • Fillings (Resin): Approx. ¥1,000 – ¥2,000 per tooth
  • Pain/Emergency Visit: Approx. ¥2,000 – ¥4,000

Private (Non-Insurance) Treatments

Some advanced aesthetic or specialized treatments are not covered by Japanese health insurance. We will always provide a clear explanation and a cost estimate before proceeding with any private treatment.

Our Main Services

We provide a wide range of dental services using state-of-the-art technology to ensure your comfort and long-term oral health.

1. Preventive Dentistry & Bacterial Care

“Prevention is the best cure.” Based on Dr. Kaneko’s expertise in Oral Bacteriology (Ph.D.), we don’t just fix cavities; we manage the bacterial environment of your mouth to prevent future issues.

  • Professional Cleaning & Scaling: Removal of plaque and tartar that brushing alone cannot reach.
  • Gum Disease Management: Specialized care to prevent tooth loss and systemic diseases.
  • Oral Wellness Check: Analysis of the link between your oral health and overall physical condition.

2. CEREC: Same-Day Ceramic Restoration

“High-quality crowns and inlays in just one visit.” We understand your time is valuable. With our advanced CAD/CAM (CEREC) system, we can design, create, and fit your ceramic restorations in a single appointment.

  • No Temporary Crowns: No need to wait weeks with a fragile temporary cap.
  • No Messy Impressions: We use a digital 3D scanner—no uncomfortable silicone molds.
  • Durable & Natural: High-quality, metal-free ceramics that look and feel like your natural teeth.
  • (Note:Only available at Kaneko Dental Clinic in Kuki)

3. Professional Sports Mouthguards

“Protect your smile, enhance your performance.” As a 4th-degree black belt in Judo, Dr. Kaneko is an expert in sports dentistry. We provide custom-fitted mouthguards that offer superior protection compared to “boil-and-bite” store-bought versions.
