Welcome to Nishikata Family Dental / Kaneko Dental Clinic. I am Dr. Takahiko Kaneko, the Director of Koeikai Medical Corporation. With over 38 years of experience in dentistry and a Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Oral microbiology, I am dedicated to providing high-quality dental care that supports your overall health.

We understand that visiting a dentist in a foreign country can be stressful due to the language barrier and different medical systems. To ensure our international patients feel at home, I personally provide consultations and treatments in fluent English (EIKEN Grade 1 certified).

No need for a translator. Dr. Kaneko handles everything from initial consultation to complex surgical procedures in English, ensuring clear communication regarding your treatment plan and costs.

2. Ph.D. Specialist in Oral Health

As a specialist in Oral microbiology, Dr. Kaneko focuses on the link between oral bacteria and systemic diseases (such as diabetes and dementia). We provide evidence-based preventive care.

3. Advanced Technology (1-Day Treatment)

Using the latest CEREC (CAD/CAM) technology, we can provide high-quality ceramic crowns and inlays in a single visit—perfect for busy professionals. (Only available at Kaneko Dental Clinic in Kuki)

4. Sports Dentistry & Mouthguards

Dr. Kaneko is a 4th-degree black belt in Judo. Combining his athletic background with dental expertise, he creates custom-made high-performance mouthguards for athletes of all levels.

Yes, we accept all forms of Japanese National Health Insurance (Kokumin Kenko Hoken) and Social Insurance (Shakai Hoken).

In Japan, most dental procedures are covered by national health insurance, which typically covers 70% of the cost. Patients are usually responsible for the remaining 30% as a co-payment.

• ID (Residence Card or Passport)
• Any medical information or medications you are currently taking.

While costs vary depending on the complexity of the case, here is a general guide for insurance-based treatments:

• Initial Consultation & Cleaning: Approx. ¥3,000 – ¥4,500 (Includes X-rays, periodontal pocket check, and professional scaling)
• Fillings (Resin): Approx. ¥1,000 – ¥2,000 per tooth
• Pain/Emergency Visit: Approx. ¥2,000 – ¥4,000

Some advanced aesthetic or specialized treatments are not covered by Japanese health insurance. We will always provide a clear explanation and a cost estimate before proceeding with any private treatment.
